The story of Balzer and Tuck Architecture begins in the mid ‘90s when firm partners, Brett Balzer and Michael Tuck first met in Manhattan. Working for Avinash K. Malhotra Architects, they collaborated on large-scale adaptive reuse projects as well as the planning and design of residential apartments and condominiums.
Over the years, Brett and Michael each expanded their personal portfolios and breadth of skills as they moved to various firms, mastering single family residences and corporate offices, as well as large university and technology projects. Along the way, they each honed the ability to blend modern and traditional architectural styles, a skill that is central to Balzer and Tuck’s success.
In 2002 Brett founded Brett W. Balzer Architects and in 2004 moved the practice to Saratoga Springs where early commissions for the Rowhouses at High Rock Springs and 92 East Avenue established the firm’s design presence in the region. In 2005, the firm became Balzer and Tuck Architects with Michael Tuck joining as a partner. Together, Brett and Michael, along with their growing staff, have earned a reputation as a collaborative team that delivers exceptional design.
