This is the first of several projects that Balzer & Tuck has completed with an Austin, Texas development team; a stunning contemporary design in the Travis Heights neighborhood that takes full advantage of a formerly vacant ¼ acre lot backing up to Blunn Creek with views of the City of Austin skyline.
The project consists of a (4) bedroom single family 3,100 square foot main residence with an attached (2) bedroom 750 square foot ADU apartment with separate entrance and full kitchen, providing an ideal space for guests, in-law suite or rental income potential.
Defined by indoor-outdoor interactions, the project balances the required privacy for two dwellings on a shared city lot. Careful consideration was given to the details throughout the home, all of which are crafted with precision; a testament to the local talented tradespeople employed by the development team. Walls of glass, both fixed and operable, blur the line between indoor and outdoor spaces.
The defining moment on the interior is a dramatic three-story staircase which climbs along a wall of windows, allowing natural light to flood the stairwell and spill into the adjacent spaces. Custom cabinetry was designed throughout the home, helping to keep a client desired minimalist feel for the living spaces.
An elevator threads the three levels of the home together, bringing you to a rooftop deck where the spectacular views of the thriving city of Austin can be admired.
